HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar has announced that next year the Medical Entrance Examination (NEET) and engineering entrance examination (JEE Mains) will be held twice in a Year. The examination of NEET will be held every year in February and May. While JEE Mains examination will be conducted every year in January and April. The UGC NET examination will be conducted in December.
During a press conference in Delhi, Prakash Javadekar said that now NEET, JEE examination will conduct by the National Testing Agency (NTA). So far, the responsibility of organizing these examinations was on the CBSE. The NATA will also organize the GPAT examination related to the management related to the CMAT and pharmacy affiliated.
Javadekar said that the highest scores will be considered for both entry and admission in JEE.
Javadekar said that related to these examinations, there has been no change in the syllabus, the pattern of questions and the choice of language are remain same. There is no increase in the examination fees.
These exams will be computer-based. He said that in this regard, students will be allowed to practice at home or at any center. It will be free. Every exam will be held for many dates, which can last for 4-5 days.
Human Resource Development Minister said that the National Testing Agency is a significant improvement in the conduct of the examination and it has been decided to start this year.

It is worth mentioning that about 13 lakh students sit in the NEET examination, while 12 lakh students in JEE Mains and 12 lakh students in UGC Net. One lakh students in CMAT and 40,000 students in GPAT.
Enrollment in MBBS and BDS courses conducted in government and private medical colleges across the country is done through a NEET examination. The AIIMS Institute of the country and JIPMER are exceptional case as they do not not accept the score of NEET, they have their own entrances. JIPMER is located in Puducherry, admission for MBBS courses here is given through JIPMER entrance.
JEE Main Exam is conducted for admission in B.Tech./BE/B.Arch Courses in NIT, IIT and other government recognized engineering institutes across the country. Apart from this, many private institutions of the country also accept the score of JEE Main Result.
NET Examination is organized every year in July and December for the junior research fellowship and eligibility for becoming Associate Professors in Universities and Colleges.
