Mithali Raj is a very famous female cricket player. She is the captain of the Indian women’s test and ODI cricket team. She was selected for the Indian national team at the age of 17. Mithali Raj has a record of scoring most number of runs in one-day international games and she is the first and only player who surpasses 6000 runs in ODI. She had captained India twice in world cup finals in 2005 and in 2017.
Raj was born on December 3, 1982, in a Tamil family in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Her father Doraj Raj was an Airman in Indian Air Force. Her mother name is Leela Raj.
She completed her education from girls Keyes High School located in Secunderabad. After high school, she studied from the Kasturba Gandhi Junior College of West Marepalli (Secunderabad). During her school days, Mithali used to do practice with her brother. She trained with boys also and also face fast bowlers in the nest.

At the time women’s world cup 1997 when she was just 14 years of age, and she was in the probable list of the Indian squad. but in the end moments, she wasn’t get selected. In 1999 she played her first match against Ireland.
She is a part of Railways team in domestic cricket, in India. She had played alongside with legend players like Anjum Chopra and Anju Jain; they were teammates for railways in domestic cricket.
In the 2005 Women’s Cricket World Cup, Mithali Raj captained the Indian team. In the captaincy of Mithali Raj, team India defeated England in test series for the first time ever and also win Asia cup for India in that same year.
Mithali was in number 1 spot in ICC women’s ODI ranking when she entered women’s cricket world cup in 2017. India also reached in the finals, and they were very close to win but late collapse stops their marathon run.
In the interview, she said, to create or developed quality players, India needs to play more test cricket. This is also the hardest format of cricket. She also is the 1st Indian & 5th woman cricketer overall to score over 1,000 World Cup runs.
Her Magnificent performances gave India lot of victories, she makes us proud wherever she goes. The Indian government also appreciates her work towards the country and honored her many awards. She received ‘Arjuna Award’ in 2003 and in 2015 she honored with India’s fourth highest civilian award ‘Padma Shree’.
Mithali nicknamed Women’s Cricket Sachin Tendulkar due to her amazing run-scoring ability and challenging unbeaten batting records.
Mithali Raj is a very talented player. She started playing cricket at an early age. Mithali has scored more than 6000 runs in one-day internationals and also has made the unique record of scoring 7 consecutive fifties. She made an incredible century in her first ever match against Ireland where she scored unbeaten 114 runs.
